JFK in Miami, 1963
Days before his assassination, President John F. Kennedy visited Miami for a key foreign policy speech, a meeting with the Inter-American Press Association and to hobnob with local politicians. At one point in the trip, a bomb threat prompted the Secret Service to deploy 250 Dade and Miami police to help protect the president — even though JFK was not told of the threat.
