10/29/1963, John Walther/Miami Herald Staff: Mr. George Schloetzer who has given a Halloween party for the neighborhood kids since 1945 sits by sign depicting the sad news for this year. Party became too big and got out of hand. Last year he entertained 600 kids and some of the parents to boot.

10/31/1965, Wayne Warren/Miami Herald Staff: This grisly face awaited trick-and-treaters stopping by Hudson Barrs' Hialeah home Sunday night. Backed by a coffin, Barrs, his face gruesomely stitched with greasepaint, stared down youngsters and then gave out candy. Heavy rain kept most children home, sparing them the frightful sight.

He and a cast of dozens, including Ashlie Keyes, slamming the coven shut, and Adrian Luft, at left, are going public with their party this year.
10/30/1990, Marice Cohn Band/Miami Herald Staff: Green Briar Nursing Center, 9820 N. Kendall Drive, celebrated their Halloween with a Creepy Carnival inviting school children from Holy Cross Academy to partake in the fun. Liza Bulas a 4th grader 9 years old, and other kids got carried away on the booth called Lights out where the kids put out a candle inside a pumpkin with water guns and started shooting them at the clown running the booth Mr. Clown is Steve Bernhard, who was outnumbered by the kids.

She was dressed as a witch, this was part of the annual Halloween party at the Hospital for children that are hospitalized there.

Thirteen-year-old DIANA GONZALEZ took time-out Sunday afternoon to check her lipstick in the minor during a hauntingly good time at Kendall Town & Country Mall, which sponsored for the third year in a row a traditional-style door-to-door trick-or-treat day from 2-6pm. Over 100 stores in the mall participated, handling out tons of candy to trick-or-treaters.
10/29/1993, Cameron Craig/Miami Herald Staff: One and a half year old Rachel Kamlet was an angel at the Toddler Time costume party Friday morning at the North Shore Recreation Center. The group which meets every Tuesday and Friday brings parents and toddlers together to play. Their costume party was complete with a Halloween cake and candy for the kids.

10/31/1962, John Walther/Miami Herald Staff: LIKE THE TWO frugal fleas who saved and saved till they bought their own dog, Harold Lange, 8, and Glen Curtis, 9, went trick or treatin' with a mission in mind. Instead of scoffing up their goodies like all the other ghosts, they gathered and gathered on Halloween, formed a corporation and began converting the assets into cash. By late evening, the take was 24 cents. Not enough to buy a dog, but perhaps a good start on a flea farm.
